Ada was born and raised in Port Saunders, Newfoundland - the hub of the Great Northern Peninsula. She attended Memorial University in St. John’s for 3 years before deciding to do a computer data course at the College of Trades and Tech instead. In order to find employment for her chosen studies, she made the big move to Fort McMurray in 1984 and she has called this community “home” ever since.
She met and married her husband in this community where they purchased their first home together in Abasand and raised three daughters. She had the pleasure of seeing the birth of all 4 of her grandchildren at Northern Lights Regional Health Centre and centers her life around her children and grandchildren. She prides herself in her devotion to sharing family traditions with her children which will be passed to her grandchildren in years to come.
Her favourite season is definitely summer, as most of her hobbies involve the warm months of summer. She spends a good portion of her summer camping while relaxing by the campfire or strolling through the trails as her husband and grandson enjoy boating and fishing in the waters of Cold Lake. Every year she enjoys participating in the Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta Zombie Run, and also likes taking part in group exercise classes such as Zumba and step, where she has met some lifetime friends and shared many. Majority of her winters are spent in one hockey arena or another as her favourite little boy is a minor hockey player. Between hockey practice, games, team building activities and tournaments, and of course the occasional Oil Barons game, her family is all things hockey.
While raising a family, Ada has worked in different areas of the public sector, the majority of which was in banking. She worked in various aspects of the banking industry, starting out as a bank teller, then moving into commercial teller and then as a customer service rep. She was the first face you met as you walked into the bank and the first person you spoke to on the phone. During her time working in the banking industry she had the opportunity to meet and get to know many real estate agents, and knows many people that went from banking into real estate. She was very interested in expanding to a career in real estate, and after the 2016 fire, found herself unemployed for the first time in more than 20 years and thought it would be a good opportunity to pursue this passion.
Ada strives for excellence and is very excited to be on this new adventure. She is eager to help you find your first home, new home or forever home.
